    Hi there,

I recently purchased some HGA7T antennas, hoping to boost signal to a PS3 about 15m away, They don't seemed to have done anything at all though.

The signal only needs to go through about 2 insulated walls but there seems to have been no improvement at all.

My question is where these antennas not designed to go through walls but rather made for large open spaces? are the insulated walls the problem?

Any ideas on how I can improve signal? (The router is positioned in the corner of the house)

    Thanks in advance:thumbup:

what router do you have? if you have a WRT54G v1-v4 or WRT54GL v1.x you can use a 3rd party firmware that allows you to increase the signal strength.

remember however, wireless signal is two way. send/receive. you maybe able to send at a higher signal strength but the other end (your PC) will need to be boosted also.

    also check the article here.

Thanks, I am running Tomato firmware and have increased Tx power, but still nothing.

Those free antennas look good though, Thanks :)

Use a graphical signal strength tool such as Netstumbler and play with antenna orientation as well - foil backed partition walls can be good wifi blocks!
