Does anyone know of some good quality software to manage hotspots, I want to control the Kbps and the max traffic allowed by the user “cap†the shaping stuff. And want to manage the server from a remote location.

I already tried a dozen of programs nothing work well the best one so far is Linux LiveCD Router V. 1.9.5 but it doesn’t want to open the port 10000 to connect to the web administration page.

It would be extremely nice if I can use my linksys WRT54GS “12W†router to do all the work in place of a big PC running “300W†in some place in the mountains or in a remote location.

    Jacquesl,

Not sure if you have tried it or not, but check out 2hotspot, a free program that manages your hotspot. It is available for download at www.2hotspot.com

I have downloaded it, but haven't installed it and tinkered with it. Give it a shot, may be just what you need.

    HTH,
