    Hi All,

    I'm writing a user guide for extremely non-technical users to use a Tomato derivative on an ASUS RT-N16 (and only on this router).

    Question 1: How do we clear the nvram on an ASUS RT-N16?

    As part of the flashing guide we need to explain how to erase the NVRAM via physical means (not the GUI). I've read of both 30/30/30 reset using the red WPS button and also that simply holding the WPS button down for 10 seconds while plugging in the router is sufficient. Does anyone actually know what procedure we need to follow to clear the nvram on this specific router (not just what seems to work)?

    Question 2. When do we need to clear the nvram?

    The flashing procedure for our guide will go Asus-> DD-WRT(mini) ->Tomato (no firmware recovery or tftp for this part). Is it necessary to clear the nvram both before and after each flash or would simply clearing it after the final Tomato flash be sufficient?

    Option A)
    Asus -> *clear* -> DD-WRT(mini) -> *clear* -> Tomato -> *clear* -> finished

    Option B)
    Asus -> DD-WRT(Mini) -> Tomato -> *clear* -> finished

    We really don't want to add steps that are not necessary as it makes the flashing process far more intimidating, but of course we really don't want problems!!

    Thanks everybody!!!
