How do I access files on home PC from work?

I have a WRTG54G V5 router for my Comcast Broadband service with my home PC connected directly to it. I have forwarded port 3389 to allow a Remote Desktop Connection from my PC at work to my PC at home. This works fine, but I would instead like to simply access the files on my home PC via a mapped network drive. I tried to forward ports 137-139 and 445, but that doesn't work when I try to map the drive at work.

Anyone know how I can set this up?

    Thanks for the help.

An easy way would be to use Gmail Drive if you have a gmail account. Otherwise any such idea is not reccomended at all, for obvious security reasons.

That, and the fact that most ISPs that I know of block netbios ports for exactly the same reason: security.

You might be better off trying to set up a VPN if you have a spare Linux box lying about...
