How do I get my Nintendo DS connected?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by the_postmaster, Aug 7, 2007.

  1. I have a Linksys WAG54G router but I can't get connected with my Nintendo DS. When it is testing the connection, it connects OK until it tries to find the IP Address then it says 'UNABLE TO OBTAIN IP ADDRESS'. The Nintendo Wi-fi site isn't any help whatsoever so if anyone has had this problem and fixed it, could they help me out. Cheers

Before I went to 2 router WDS setup the following worked for me.

I don't know much about the WAG series but with the WRT54G with DD-WRT loaded I had to set Wireless Network Mode to Mixed, Wireless Channel to 11, Under Wireless Security tab I set Security Mode to WEP with a 128 bit 26 hex digit encryption. Generated the key and entered key 1 into the DS wireless setup. When that was all done was I able to connect the DS to the net.

The Linksys firmware is almost the same as DD-WRT in the wireless settings mentioned above. Hope it helps you.
