How long will it take Linksys before a new hardware rev for the WRT54G ?

I returned my ver2.2 as it was defective, i don't think the beta patched firmware is the correct fix for this problem. I have been waiting and watching to see what is going to happen with this product. I would think at some point we will see a new hardware rev like 3.1 or 4.0.

Just wonder how long it would take them to redesign this WRT and release it as i am going to wait until then to get a wireless router as i think Linksys has the best router but i just want it to work correctly.

and plus buying the newest rev is not always a good idead. some people report major problems with the WRT54G v3 and with the wrt54gS v2 but i have the wrt54gS v2 and have yet to see any big problems.

I was haveing the same problem as everyone else in the long thred, dissconnect on high throughput, i had posted in the first few pages lof that thred ong ago. I also had the rebooting and lockup issuse that is releated to this timming problem between the chips. I see that overclocking the chip seem to help and many claim it is working good. this is what makes me think that it is a hardware design issue and it is only being patched with the firmware to fix a swcrew up in the design. I did not want to chance it as the problem i had seem to be either a defective unit or more then just software errors and with many others having the same problems, i just returned my WRT54G Rev2.2 and got my money back. I need a stable router as i have been on the road for the last two months and have just made plans for the next two. I connect to my PC at home from the hotels i stay in. With the rev 2.2 WRT54G i had to keep calling home to have someone cycle the power to reset the router as it would just lockup.
