How many simultaneous WIFI connections through a WAP?

    How any WIFI sessions can be active throught a single WAP?

    253, theoretically.
    To give you a rough idea devide the expected wireless connection speed of your WAP by 3 times the number of clients you want to connect. If you leave all security settings disabled you can devide by 2 times the number of clients. This calculation already considers the performance impact of enabling CTS which is definitely necessary.
    I.e. a connection speed of 54Mbit (WPA enabled) and 8 clients connected would result in an average of about 2Mbit of bandwidth for each client. Of course each client would have peak rates of round about 20MBit but as soon as all clients cause traffic you will fall back to the calculated average or even below.
