    Hi there,
I have a Buffalo Linkstation NAS on my home network. When I access my home network using the default pptp client on windows xp and connect to the rv042 with pptp, i am able to search for computers by name or ip address and find them. For example by right clicking on "my network places icon" and then searching for the linkstation which has the ip address 192.168.1.23, I am able to find the linkstation map the linkstation shared drive and then access the contents of the drive. The only problem is I lose connectivity when i try to download files>10MB from the NAS. I am not sure why. Because of this I wanted to access the same buffalo linkstation NAS by connecting to the network using the linksys QuickVPN client using IPSec. After disabling the firewall on the client computer, I was able to connect successfully using the quickVPN software. I was able to access a server on my remote home network by typing in the local ip eg http://192.168.1.2. However, when I am connected with the quick vpn and try to search for computers by name or by ip address, it is not able to find them. I am not sure why there is this difference between the 2 vpns. Any insight would be much appreciated!
