Is it possible to assign the LAN-IP of the Router via DHCP?
Thanks in advance,
afaik NO. what exactly are you trying to do?
I'm part of a rather big "House-Network" with a Subnet of 255.255.255.0 where all adresses are assinged via DHCP (except the Gateway address).
I just wanted to use the WRT54GL as an Access-Point and to act it as a layer 2 device. For the config I thought I should give the Router an IP address of this subnet. To avoid IP collision, I'd like the router to obtain the address via DHCP.
For now, I configured the router to use the WAN port with DHCP to connect to the network and set up my own subnet.
Do you have any idea how I can realise my idea above?
Ask the house admin to create a DHCP reservation for your and then just hard code it.
