I followed the guide and I have successfully flashed my WRT54Gv5 to Linux-based and the router is now running with dd-wrt firmware. I want to correct the default MAC address of the router now. The default MAC address is set using vxwork_killer. What is the correct steps to use vxwork_killer again when my WRT54Gv5 is now in Linux-based?

    Million thanks.

Log into your router using telnet.

    Execute the following.

    nvram set et0macaddr="yourmacaddress"
    nvram commit
    reboot

    Example:

    nvram set et0macaddr="00:10:30:40:50:50"
    nvram commit
    reboot

    No quotes.

I would like to know if this method update the factory default. i.e. after setting eth0macaddr to e.g. 00:01:02:03:04:05 and restore factory defaults, eth0macaddr is still set to 00:01:02:03:04:05.

    Thank you very much.

    Thank you.
I am unsure if I have to do a reversion to VxWorks first and then flash linux again, or I can just only do all steps to flash linux again.
It seems to me that the reversion process has more risk.
