    Dear All,

my WRT54G v1.0 is just turned to brick during firmware upgrade (tofu 10). but the revivial guide for debrick it is at least for v2.0. i really couldn't figure out where and what 'flash' chip is said in the guide.

anyone knows any info for debrick v1.0? please point me to the right direction.

    thanks in advance.

Tofu 10 is known to do that to version 1 and 1.1 hardware. Tofu 11 is fine on version 1 hardware.
The above links are fine. A short simple summary would be:

Use a wired connection. Make sure the pc has an ipaddress in the 192.168.1.xxx range and do the following:

Do a long reset on router (push and hold reset until all lights flash)

At command prompt type ping -t 192.168.1.1
You will probably get no response. While this command is still running power cycle router. After router finishes rebooting you should get a short window where pings succeed and then they will stop. Kill ping command (use control-c).

Extract tofu 9 or 11 or whatever firmware you want to run to a file named for instance code.bin

download tftp.exe from linksys. You can find it here: ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network
    Run it.
    Server is 192.168.1.1
    Password can be left blank
Select your binary firmware of choice
    Don't hit upgrade yet.

Power cycle router and then hit upgrade promptly.

Assuming it loads successfully give it a while to reboot and try pinging it again.

Assuming everything worked, do a long reset again, re-enter your settings and all should be well.
