    Hi you all,

Does anybody nows how to let the WRT54GS holding the ISP's givin public IP address?

I'm using a ADSL2MUE modem connect to an WRT54GS router.

For now the ADSL2MUE holding the public IP that is givin by the ISP.

Is there a way so that my router holds this public IP number instead of my modem?

If I try to use my modem in BRIDGE mode it wil not work.

    My ISP encapsulation information is:
my ISP name: Skynet (Belgacom) - Belgium
    vpi 8
    vci 35

All help and information is welcome!!!

    As I understand...
Your Modem got public IP, your router got internal IP.

Your modem should be in the bridge mode.
Your router should login the router with PPPoE (with username+password).

The IP of your router will still be the internal IP like
The WAN IP (that shows up on the routers status) should be the IP that was given by your ISP.

Btw, why do you want your Router to have the public IP? You want to connect it from outside?

Yes I like to run a service and be reachable from the outside.

My modem on bridge mode wont work, always this message:

Can not get a IP address from PPPoE server

    My ISP is PPPoE.

Dont now what to do next!!!

    Thanks anyway!!!
