Hi all, I have a WRT54GL running Hyperwrt THibor 15c, next week they will upgrade my adsl2+ towards VDSL , as the router installed by the provider is very limited (NAT limited for 4 devices) and very poor wireless performance, I always putted my adsl modem/router in bridged mode and let the linksys send out the Ppoe. Much easyer instead of 2 times doing NAT... I already figured out how to bridge my VDSL modem/router , I cant modify to much, I also have other VLAN's on the vdsl modem used for IPTV, they always use bridged mode. Now the problem : ADSL alsways uses 8/35 VP/VC, but I have seen my provider uses 0/62 VP/VC for VDSL. How to modifie this in the Linksys router so I do not have to change the complete setup ?
So the VPI/VCI settings have nothing to see with the router side, only the modem, also when I let the WRT54GL doe the Ppoe authentification ?
you can let the router perform the pppoe if you wish, that is how i prefer it personally, or you could let the modem perfom all dialing functions and work in a half-bridge mode to pass the public ip to the router, if your modem has that capability. it's a matter of personal choice.
