    Dear Forumguests,

I have a WRT54G and before that a BEFW11S4. I turned the wrong powersupply in the BEFW11S4 and now the red led of the WAN Diag is burning, and i can't reset the router.

So i wanna open the case and take a look with my father, but we can't open it.

It seems it's got something to do with tha back 2 feet, but we can't figured out. It doesn't slided off like the WRT54G so pls help?

I've just dismantled my BEFW11S4. Although I didn't do it very elegantly. However, I can now tell how it SHOULD be done.

1 - remove the BLUE part of the body first by pulling it forward.
You need to cut the 'tamper sticker' un the underside where the blue meets the black. The BLUE body is held in place by 'lips' on the inside of the SIDES of the body. You'll need to push something thin in where the blue and black meets. For example a flat blade screwdriver, angle it so the blade is going towards the front.

2 - the PCB etc is fastened to the underside panel of the BLACK part of the case. You should be able to slide it forward 3-4mm (I didn't realise this and forced it off - and broke some of the plastic lugs)

3 - lever off the metal shield and you can now see the circuitry.

I hope this is of some help but I'd be surprised if you could fix it. AMost of the circuits are surface mount components - which are a pain to change.

    Cheers PJ
