How to prevent Wireless --> WAN traffic from appearing on Ethernet ports

I have this strange issue and maybe someone here can assist.

I have a NAS drive attached to one of the ethernet ports of my WRT54GL. It is supposed to go into "sleep" mode after 1 hour of no activity, but the drive seems to be always active. I see the activity light constantly blinking on it.

From looking at the bandwidth graphs in Tomato, I think I know what the problem is. Wireless activity from my workstations, which is only going to the WAN, appears in the bandwidth graphs when I click on the LAN button. It seems that the router is presenting the traffic on the ethernet ports as well as the WAN port. The NAS drive sees this traffic and never goes into sleep mode.

Any ideas on how to insure that the only traffic which goes to an ethernet port is the traffic that is intended for it? Or is my diagnosis completely wrong?

    Thanks.
