Hi does anyone know if it is possible to setup the WRT54G as a bridge like the WET54G of linksys?

So that you can acces and see which networks are available.

Would this be possible with sator or alchemy?

If so, how to proceed and what to do?

    much appreciated,

    eric

if you have 2 WRT54G's you can use WDS (repeater+bridge) otherwise I am unsure. DD-WRT has a client mode but then your client network is on a different subnet.

    I use HyperWRT 2.1b1

(I have not tried this with Security turned on..)

    Starting with Factory defaults:
Make sure the wireless mode is "AP"!
    turn off DHCP..
Set the channel to the channel of your network
on the admin tab - open the Startup script and add the following commands:

wl ap 0 <- turn off AP mode
wl wet 1 <- turn on bridging
wl join <SSID> <- join your network (this command has options for WAP,WEP etc.. but I have never used it..)

    Save and reboot
