"halt" or "/sbin/halt" specifically, should do it...

You can shut the device down ("halt") or reboot it ("reboot"). I suspect you want the latter. Neither of these takes any arguments.

Why do you want to reboot/halt the machine? Most people seem to be able to run Tomato months at a time without any problems.

@fyellin. coz i have Night Unlimited Internet usage 2-8 AM.
so if i couldn't wake up in the morning then router will automatically shutdown. and i wont be charged for over usage from my ISP.

I hadn't thought of that possibility.

Others with more experience can probably give you the commands that will disconnect the wlan at 8am and reconnect it at 2am, without your needing to shut down the router. In this way, you LAN is still usable, if you have multiple machines on your network. But your method is probably the safest.

yes. just tested it. working perfectly. at specified time WAN goes down and router is not responding. but i can access the lan. so what i have to do is just replug the power cable after 8 AM.
