How to slow down a port?

    Hi gang,

I'm a newbie here, so my apologies in advance!

Is it possible to slow down one port on the WRT54G? I'd like one port to always go slow, so as to conserve bandwidth for another port.

Specifically, a DSL line is shared between my business and my kids computer. The business computer should always get the majority of the bandwidth.

Right now, I have to plead with the kids to stop surfing when I have work to do. Ideally, there should be a way to allocate bandwidth?

    Many thanks!

Depending on the firmware you are using you could use QoS.
