How to tell a WRT54GSv4 w/ OpenWRT to be a hub?

    It's a WRT54GSv4 w/ OpenWRT WRrc4.

I need to look at network traffic on the LAN side from time to time without having to plug in a hub.

How does one tell the router to change from switch to hub and vice-versa?

    uhhhhh
A switch fulfils all requirements of a hub and surpasses them. So, your router cannot be made into a hub (why would you want to?).

A hub broadcasts all packets it receives to all lines. A switch routes packets only to the destination line.

Which is exactly what I want.

Rumour has it that certain models of switches have the ability to turn into hubs. If Broadcom has that ability I want it!

(BTW, the tag line under my name refers only to this site...)

You can either write a rule to dump packets somewhere for you to view, or you can modify the source code to dump them somewhere for you. =P

You could also try writing a rule which redirects packets to all interfaces, but I'm not sure how to do this.

I am not having much luck with packet filtering/redirecting. Have not had time to figure out what is going wrong.

Would Really Be Nice if there was a simple way to do it--like tell the switch to make like a hub...
