How To Test Security After Storm Interuption?

I have searched FAQs & Forums but am unable to find answer to simple question: How can I test my security settings?

My WRT54GSv1.0 was knocked out in a recent lightning storm. There was no direct hit, but my power light was blinking. It would not reboot after holding the reset button for 5 seconds as advised. Before I had a chance to upgrade the firmware, we were hit by another storm, and the power went out again. This time when the power came back on my router was working! The connection seems to be find.

How can I be sure that all aspects of my security are intact?

I see no reason why you'd have a problem with the security not working if the rest of the router is working, but if you're worried about it, there are many sites out there that can test your system for open ports, etc. Try this one from Sygate: http://scan.sygatetech.com/ There are multiple tests, and some take quite a while to complete.
