My firmware doesn't change anything to the web interface so it shows v34R62. You should always be able to use the Firmware Download page to install a different version, e.g. the original R62 release or the new R75 release. I upgraded to the R75 release myself (mainly so it would do a disk check of my second harddisk which is ext2 formatted) and it worked perfectly.

Did the download of the firmware go successfully? It should pop up a message box saying "Download complete, your NAS will reboot in 30 seconds" or something. Then you hear one beep followed (after a minute or so) two beeps and your box should be running the new version. You can't install the firmware from a NAS200 harddisk because it switches the file sharing off during the update (you will get an error message); you have to download the file from the Linksys website to your computer and upgrade it from there.

If your browser is still showing the old version number after a successful update, maybe it's because it's got the old page in the cache. Or maybe you downloaded the wrong firmware...
