I'm trying to figure this out, and I can't seem to find anyone trying to do this. I just want to have my movies on the DLNA server that are on my internal hard drives. I don't have a usb HDD nor, do I want to use one with the router. I'm using shibby firmware on a belkin play max. Can someone please help?

I really don't see the point in this.
Install a whatever DLNA server where the media lives (your PC) and forget about minidlna on the router.
Try serviio for example but there are dozens available out there

If you're going to have your PC up anyway, you may as well have the server running on it. No? I happen to like Plex Media server, but ... chacun à son goût‎.
