Howto add a Tomato-USB printer to OS X

    I just added my CLP-315 to tomato, it was pretty straightforward once I figured out the settings.

    In Tomato:

    -make sure that under USB Support, "USB Printer Support" is checked

    -plug usb cable
    -turn on printer

    On Snow Leopard 10.6.4

    -open System Preferences > Print & Fax
    -click the "+" sign on the bottom left hand side of left column
    -the "Add Printer" dialog pops up, choose:

    -- protocol "HP Jetdirect - Socket"
    -- Address (the LAN IP of your Tomato router)
    -- Queue (blank)
    -- Name ( whatever name you want)
    -- Location (anything; Mars or Uranus if you want)
    -- Print using - choose the driver for your printer

    -click "Add"


    The clp-315 already has a driver in snow leopard and there is a newer version in the Samsung's website. I am using the SL one.

    Next you should see it on your list. And that's it. Print a test page.

    It should work for other printers, just choose the right driver.
