I've a question about monitoring bandwith. To monitoring bandwith that's used by the computers in my network, i have enabled SNMP on the linksys router (dd-wrt, v23b2, 27-10) and i'm currently using cacti to graph it.. It works perfecly, but internal and external traffic (like visiting websites, downloading etc) are merged together in one graph. Now i want to split the monitoring: 1. monitor the bandwith that's incoming/outgoing to torrent/external ipadresses/gaming, video conferencing etc. 2. monitor the bandwith used by the network (copy files from laptop to pc, 'streaming' music from fileserver to pc etc) Is this possible?
You are monitoring the wrong intereface then.. There are seperate IDs for the WAN and LAN interface.. if you monitor the LAN you end up with the mixed data. These are the DD-WRT OIDs for the WAN interface Uploads: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.8 Downloads: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.8
