HyperWRT WDS, how can I find the IP of the 2nd router?

    Hello all,

I have two WRT54G routers running HyperWRT. They are running a WDS network between my house and my father in laws house. (working great) I configured these guys a long time ago, and I can't seem to remember the IP of the 2nd router (the one not running the DHCP server).

Is there any way besides resetting the 2nd router to figure out what it's IP is?

I'd like to change some settings.

I have the WDS set up with a startup script like this (on the 1st router)

    wl lazywds 0
    wl wds 00:0F:66:00:5B:EC

    Thanks!
    Nick

Does the second router ip show up under Device List (or something like that) under the gui of the main router?

On your PC, connected to the 2 routers, ping some IPs, then follow that by a

    arp -a

after every ping, and check the IP of the device with MAC address 00:0F:66:00:5B:EC.

You could also do a broadcast ping if your OS allows:

Say your network is 192.168.1.0/24. Then on Linux for example, you can do

    ping -b 192.168.1.255

which will try and ping all your devices on the network. Then do

    arp -a

Under Windows you may try just

    ping 192.168.1.255

but I don't know if that really works.
