    Hi,

Can I use the 2nd one in repeater mode or bridge mode or any other mode/setting so to expand the range ? Reason I am askign I recently moved my 1st routher so I am only getting 1 bar and in some places and someimes no reception...the 2nd one will have to be wireles no wired connection possible between 1st and 2nd. All input appreciated.

Yes you can, if you load 3rd party firmware such as Tomato or dd-wrt on your routers. Search the forums for WDS (Wireless Distribution System).

The only issue is that the WRT54G only has one radio, which can only send or recieve at one time in repeater mode. Using repeater mode will halve your bandwidth.
