I've got a problem here that's really really pissing me off.. I can't figure out why it's not working, because theoretically it should work without a problem at all...

When I hook my DSL modem up to my Linksys wireless router (802.11b, I forget the model number), I get access to the net just fine, but when I try to send any email using SMTP, it won't work. I can send small test messages with only a few letters (I haven't exausted all tests) but when I try to send a longer message, or a small message with an attachment, the server won't respond, and the mail won't send.... however, when I hook the modem directly to my computer and dial up using my PPPoE connection manager, the email will send without a problem.

It shouldn't be a port issue, because I'm connecting to another server, not using a server on my computer. Also, I DID try to host my own SMTP server (http://www.softstack.com/freesmtp.html) but that didn't work either. The server said that it was supposedly sending something, but it never did.

So at this point, I'm wondering if it's a faulty router, or if there's some setting that I don't know what it does... As far as I can tell, everything else works just fine on the network, except SMTP. Can anybody advise me of what to do?

you may try on this simple work-around...
access router set-up page set mtu to enable or manual and set the size to 1492

It seems that fixed the problem. Thank you very much
