ICMP forwarding? (not sure it's possible)

I have two DynDns hosts at home, one for a server and one for the Tomato router. Since they share an external IP, is there a way to forward an ICMP ping request to a given host?

I mean, I want to be able to monitor (by ping) each of the hosts, but since they are pointing to the same IP, if my server is down, my Tomato box answers for it!

Not sure if this can be done... any thoughts?

there is only 1 IP address so only 1 ping response and no more :) Alternative, you should monitor by port connection and response from a daemon running on your server.

Yeah, that's what I suspected. No harm in asking, though
