    Hi,

    i bought a new WPC54G V1.2 last week...

But in some parts of my house I get no connection to the wireless-networt although I have a Signal Strength of Very Good.

So I asked a supporter and he told me to uninstall the drivers and only install with windows not with the linksys software.

But how can I install it only with windows?

When I click on the hardware tab and want to install a driver without the linksys-cd I don't find anyone.

Maybe it's a bit a nooby question, but please help me.
I've searched all days under google and the linksys-forum, but have found no answer.

What OS are you using? If you are using XP with SP2 you should not need to do anything. The OS should recognize the card and install the drivers when you plug it in.

    If not post back.

Here is a link to a recent thread where you can find more info. on the WPC54G v1.2 and a link to the latest driver availabe which is from Broadcom, (Broadcom is the maker of the chip in the v1.2 so their drivers should work for you). There is also a basic set of instructions on how to load the new driver:

    http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=8116

You should be able to use either the Linksys, Dell or Broadcom drivers, (I've used all 3 with no issues). Dell and Broadcom seem to release updates long before Linksys, so if you want to stay ahead of the game, check this forum for updates. Good Luck!

Here are the latest driver versions that I know of that will work with v1.2. The higher the #, the newer the version, (usually):

Latest from Linksys is: 3.100.64.0 (confirmed today at linksys.com)
Latest from Dell is: 3.120.27.0 (confirmed today at dell.com)
Latest Broadcom is: 3.140.16.0 (as of 8-15-05)

Please read the last page, (currently #3) of the Sticky: Broadcom WLAN Driver 3.100.46.0 & Utility 3.100.56.0 thread for the posts and links to all of the above listed drivers:

    ok, thanks for your answer

i've tried this 3.140.16.0 from Broadcom for my PCMCIA-Card and it works perfect with the w-lan-monitor 2.0 from linksys.

The signal strength and the quality is just perfect :thumb:
