I was going to upgrade my nslu2 firmware to debian 5.0 beta1.
During the upgrade i accidentally turned of the power to the nslu2.
How the h3ll did you do that you may ask.
OK i will tell you how.
i have an on/off switch on the wall socket where the nslu2 is connected and i was wiggling my toes a little to close
Anyway, now i cant find it on the ip address.
Does anyone know how i can find it and install a new firmware?

    Please, anyone?
Is it possible to get this nslu2 to work again?
When it is switched on the ready/status is orange and the Ethernet is green.
It cant find any hard drives and i cant http to it.
Is it possible to upgrade the firmware without using the web interface?

Yes. You will put NSLU in ''upgrade mode'' (search how to do that) and then with the ''sercomm utility'' you can change the firmware. All that is required is that Redboot (the bootloader) to be intact.

    Link (help).

    Thanks for the help danix
I had tried the sercomm utility before without success, but with your link i understood how to use it properly.
    I really appreciate it.

:) Glad to be any help. I have myself a NSLU2 and had to learn the hard way how to change the different firmwares...Debian then OpenWRT...now uNSLUng. OpenWRT is a super firmware but doesn't have in his webGUI formatting and mounting USB HDD's !!! I was really dissapointed.
