I just got a new Linksys RV042 Router for my organization. I had been using a SonicWALL, which allowed me to block incoming requests from places I did not wish to have visitors from (China, Brazil, Russia, Netherlands and other countries that I neither do business with and have experienced attacks on open port 80 and 25. Let's say I wanted to block all incoming traffic from this range: 126.96.36.199 - 188.8.131.52 How would I do this in the RV042. Also, would it work? The SonicWALL would not like that. It would likely ignore it. But if I did the same range and blocked *only* ports 80 and 25, it would work fine. Basically, my organization does work with only a few regions. We don't want our overworked DSL connection and underpowered web/email server to have to deal with requests we don't care about. That's why I would like to block them at the router.
