Is cooling required for router stability

    Hi,

I would like to know if the linksys WRT54G v5 just out of the box, needs additional cooling. Right now I have it sitting alone on top of a cabinet with plenty of space all around.

Previously I was using a netgear router and adding heatsinks and cutting holes in the case was a must or it would start crashing leading to eventual complete unrecoverable failure due to the chips melting down.

    Thanks

the linksys router shoult be perfectly stable without extra sinks. It will be warm, but not hot. If you mod it, which with the v5 it's worthless and not possible, you don't need to add extra cooling
