Is it possible to connect a WRT54GS V4 to a WRT54GX?

Currently, I have a WRT54GX downstairs. We will call it (A). In (A), I currently have my computer and laptop connected to it. Both are wired.

Upstairs, I have my xbox and tivo. I have a WRT54GS. We will call it (B). I want to wire my xbox and tivo to (B).

Is it possible to connect (B) to (A)? If so, what' the best way to about doing this?

Since the WRT54GX doesn't support WDS (at least not yet to the best of my knowledge) your only choice is to configure the WRT54GS to operate in client mode. Either Thibor's version of HyperWRT or DD-WRT v23 will support the v4 hardware and include client mode features. (Note that DD-WRT v23 is currently beta.)

Sorry for the double post, i do apologize.

I'm tried both the HyperWRT and DD-WRT, and when I tried to upgrade HyperWRT, it says, "Upgrade are failed". Then I tried the DD-WRT, and got the same results.

In that case I would post a new topic in the appropriate HyperWRT or DD-WRT forum detailing how you went about the upgrade. (If you didn't try it originally I'd suggest you attempt the upgrade using the Firmware Upgrade page in the web interface.) You'll also want to double-check and make sure you were using the correct version of the firmware since only the most recent releases include support for the v4 hardware.

I don't have a WRT54GS v4 and haven't heard much about anyone else using them so it's possible there are still problems with the custom firmware on the new hardware.

    Good luck!
