I know. Seach... And I have done it. But I'm really confused by all the different names and versions of these routers. So could somebody please tell me if there's a firmware version for this that allows me to boost the output power. I live far out in the sticks, and I own the only other wireless lan in the area, so there's no danger of a crash... Thanks in advance!

(Oh, if somebody wonders, this is the first forum I've ever been to that has a Mastiff already registered, and I'm registered to maybe 20-30 different forums, like AVS Forum, Promixis, J.RIver Media Center, OCForums and so on, and so on, so that's why I call myself The Real Mastiff here! :) )

At this time there is no third party firmware for any of the various versions of the WRT54GX. I would wait until someone tests the WRT54GXv4.0 before buying any of the products.

Eh...too late... I have already bought the V2, which is the one available in Norway. Actually I haven't even tested it all over the property yet, so it may reach most of it, but I'm pretty sure it won't reach all of it with standard output strength. Still, I guess sooner or later something's gonna pop up, right?

Does anyone know if any of the WRT54GX-versions use Linux as OS?
Isn't that what's (most) important if we want to use third party firmware on the WRT54GX?
