Hello all, i bought a notebook which has wifi incorporated. So i want to buy a wireless router so I can work at home at anyplace. I must connect to the company with a VPN. I'm about to buy the WRT54G router, but i've read in this site that it has many problems...including the VPN...so it's got me to think...is this a real solution? Is this gonna work for me? This is the first router i'm going to buy, eventhough i'm not an IT newbie. I have some basic knowledge about them. I wonder if anyone could answer that for me. If you need any kind of information, i'll be glad to respond. Thanks a lot Chiwi.
Disagree. WRT54G WAS a great router before v.5 improvements: extra slow download speed, lousy wireless performance, small memory that makes third party firmware unavailable. See threads in this forum and dslreports. I am glad that I do not have v.5 .
thanx for your comments. What i'm really concerned about is the VPN. I really need to connect to my company VPN. So I would act as a client, not a server VPN. This is the main point in Why should i get a wifi router. It's do work from home. So if i can't connec tto the company VPN...it's completley useless for me.... any thoughts? thanx again chiwi
