i upgraded from DD-WRT to Tomato today, because i've only heard good things about it, and i was sick of waiting for the next DD-WRT version

i can't really say i'm too impressed though, because i can't seem get the port forwarding to work at all.. i've reset the NVRAM, rebooted the router, i've searched forums, i've done just about all i can

can anyone help me out with this so i don't have to go back to DD-WRT? i'm sick of having to reboot the router once a week and having faulty QoS

Great rant, but what is the actual issue, and what exactly have you done so far to try to remedy it?

Could you give some more details about what you've done, and what symptoms you're seeing?

Most of us have no problems with port forwarding.

i tried opening the ports straight out of the upgrade from dd-wrt to tomato, it didn't do anything.. i tried opening the ports after erasing the NVRAM, that didn't do anything

i see UPnP opening a port for one of my programs, but a website port checker says that one is not open either

i don't think i'm doing this wrong.. it's a fairly simple process unless i'm missing something

    This does sound strange.

Did you give your router a "alternate" external MAC address, and forget to do so on Tomato? For some ISPs, this would cause you to have a new external IP, and would make you think you weren't forwarding, when you're actually talking to the old IP address.

It really is supposed to be easy. . . .

as far as i know i haven't done anything with MAC addresses

also the DMZ works fine, my xbox connects with an open NAT, if that helps any

to prove i am atleast trying to open the ports properly, heh
