I know that it's recommended that you should use the K2.4 builds of Tomato on the WRT54G/GL routers, but I'm wondering how the K2.6 builds would perform on versions 1-3 of the WRT54GS (which have 32MB of RAM and 8 MB of flash RAM)?

Even with the amount of RAM and flash RAM available on the 54GS, would the CPU (200 MHz) still be the bottleneck?

K2.6 build boot on my wrt54gs v1.1 which runs at 216MHz (even with Linksys firmware) BUT I get regular crashes and reboot so never got as far as benchmarking. I suspect its due to the wireless chipset version (nvram get wl0_corerev), at 7 its just compatible with, but can't take advantage of ND drivers I understand. Same router ock solid with same age K2.4 versions.

    What build did you use?

Based on experience, I think that the RAF build is the recommended version to use if you're planning to use K2.6.
