    Hello,

I'm really fed up with this :)

I cannot use DC++ or some other programs (video conference for instance)

Whenever i open DC++, It keeps disconnecting from the internet every few minutes. I tried different firware....same.

    Tired firewall off
    Tried different port.

    Any ideas?

What are you using? If it is a 54g.. there have been some issues with high bandwidth usage and the router...

    could explain your problem.

Post the hardware you are using.

    It's the WRT54G 2.0 router.

Problem is, it keeps disconnecting off the internet, when using some certain P2P (DC++ for example)

    I connect over PPPoE.

I've tried 3 different firmwares, no luck.

    thanks

    just a thought

I had a dlink keep doing this, in the end i turned it off, turned it on, reset it, turned upnp on as the first thing i did, then set up everything else and that worked for me, it was as though upnp hadn't switched on properly. it's worth a go.

also some of the linksys firmware has a minor glitch where if a client card uses lots and lots of bandwidth it eventually grinds to a halt and disconnects, try tweaking the settings of dc++ to try and lower the network overheads it creates

Check out this thread.. I think it will confirm your issue. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a fix.. But maybe you will find one in there.
