    AFAIK WAG354G doesn't support WDS

If you just want to link two LAN's together wirelessly then get 2 x WAP54G's or 2 x WRT54G's and use some third party firmware to give you WDS. As icest0rm has mentioned the WAG354G doesn't support WDS and so is not suitable for that use.

You may also use ethernet over power cable adaptater

    Maybe a stupid question, but:
In this case, is it possible to change the WAG354G (or WAG54G) to WAP54G or
WRT54G functionality for example by installing the WAP54G or WRT54G firmware
