Large Bandwidth Usage on imq0 Overnight

I'm hoping someone here can comment on something suspicious I noticed this morning.

I have a WRT54G running one of Toastman's K2.4 Tomato builds. My WAN access happened to be down this morning (I'm assuming for a problem at the ISP), so I was looking through logs and such on the router. I noticed that last night between 11pm and 11:30pm there was a continuous block of fairly heavy bandwidth usage that appeared on the WAN log and on the imq0 log.

The strange part is that this was when we were in bed and none of our computers were on. Furthermore, the bandwidth usage did not show up on any of the IP Traffic logs.

    What could explain this?

Check your scale setting. It may have just been a constant .1kb/sec, but if that was all that was used, then the scaling is going to make it look HUGE as there is nothing to reference it against.

IPtables will show virtually no traffic because there was none.

    Thanks for the reply.

No, it was genuinely very large ~5Mbps

A similar surge seems to appear about twice a day with no IP traffic logged (which is reassuring in a way since it is generally when we have no devices on).

I've disabled QoS to see if that changes it since my (brief) research leads me to believe that imq0 is associated with QoS.
