But the current downloadable build doesn't run on WRT54GS! Only on WRT54G...

    Pity.

The latest update is meant to support all hardware versions. They have asked for testing/confirmation on the WRT54GSv4 units however.

    ts2300:

    The ewrt site posts this:
you should first load http://www.portless.net/ewrt/binaries/ewrt-0.3-beta4.wrt54gs-gpattern.bin first. Then load the correct GS firmware you wanted to load.

Is there a possibility that there is a checksum built into the .bin that would need to be corrected to reflect the hex edit? (Just pulling ideas from my @ss, really out of the realm of my expertise since I haven't compiled anything myself yet..)

    same problem..

My WRT54GS V2.0 is in a comma, the problem is eWRT

I flashing the router with newest eWRT 0.4 (or anything else, before read the changelog and tell "support WRT54GS all versions" OMG !!) and the flashing operation is ok, i viewing the new funcionality, but, i decide reflashing to HyperWRT via web interface five times and the result is: Update failed.

Ok, no problem, i decide to flashing via TFTP and result is: "Wrong code pattern" WTF !!

I read the eWRT web page for searching a solution, and found this:

    OMG!!

I tried this 10 times and not recovey funcionality on my router, obviusly, not chance to put a other firmware.

Any, have some ideas to recovery my router?

    thanks all.. :sadbye:

    EDIT:

    I found this:

What it turns out to be is that Ewrt's preface says its a WRT54G not an S, and from then on the web interface or TFTP wont allow you to reload a GS firmware...grrr.. So what I did was to edit the most recent linksys firmware file to a G (use a BINARY editor, and look at the first four characters of the file, then change it from "W54S" to "W54G" and load that), it worked fine for me, then I could load any other GS firmware (for some reason).

Aparrently work fine for this user, i tried this later...
