Does anyone know which Linksys routers include a PPTP Server? Purportedly the RV082 does... Any others?

    Thanks

I've just installed an RV042 and can't find this feature..

I'm looking to be able to connect directly from Windows XP using a PPTP "connection".

Is there resource I can refer to for getting this to work?

    Thanks

update your firmware. get the 1.3.7.9 from our downloads.

you'll then find it in the VPN section of the GUI

click on More for info on it.

to setup PPTP on a WIndows Box check this: http://doc.m0n0.ch/handbook/pptp-windows.html

if it does not have the pptp server on it then it has old firmware. just upgrade the firmware and you'll see it on the VPN tab in the gui

The RV042 arrived.. Just fired it up and looking through the admin settings.. It came with 1.3.7.4 installed and it also includes the PPTP Server.. I notice 1.3.7.9 is beta.. Since I'm going to resell this particular router to a customer I'm going to try the current released firmware first and see what happens.. I ordered one of these for myself where I'm less reluctant to run beta firmware and I'll install 1.3.7.9 right out of the box when it arrives..

    Thanks

yeah sure, just take a look at the fixes on the beta (they are listed in the description on the downloads page, as you may runing to some issues if you dont use the beta.

One I noticed myself was the slowness through the WAN port on a 10Mb Cable connection. (Selective ACKs issue)

It seems some versions of dd-wrt also provide a PPTP server for the WRT routers.
