I have a Linksys PrintServer for USB with 4-Port Switch which is being used by a bunch of PCs to print. There is one XP Pro machine that has 2 NICs. NIC1 is connected to the same subnet as the print server, but NIC2 is given a different subnet so that it can network to another computer of a different network. The weird thing is whenever NIC2 is enabled, this computer cannot connect to the printserver and therefore cannot print. The problem is reproducable so it is very clear that somehow NIC2 interferes with the print server. The other machines in the network can print fine through this print server regardless of the NIC2 is enable or not on this particular PC. It is possible that Windows uses NIC2 to get access to the print server instead of the correct NIC1? If that is the case, how can I confirm this and more importantly, tell Windows NOT to use NIC2 to connect to the print server?
