i have a question. i need a router for friends which is only used for surfing in the net, no large amounts of data are exchanged. the range, however, should be really long, because there are a ceiling and a wall between the router and the pc.

which one is now the best to choose? are the wrt54g or the wrt54gs good enough or do i need the wrt54gx? btw: what's actually the difference between the g and the gs (in easy words *g*)? is it only the speedbooster? does this booster really work good in practice? and what's up with the wrt54c? can it have a long range (it has no external antennas)?

a ceiling and a wall shoulnd't be a problem for any of the routers unless their filled with High voltage cables or cordless phones :) or their like a mile away.
the GX will give you the best range, but the G or GS should be fine.
the GS has more memory and the speedbooster but thats about it.
I imagine the C would have less range but probably not a huge difference...(i don't have one though)

FYI: You can add an external antenna to the WRT54GC. WRT54G/GS
