There was an updated driver for this card at Windows Update so figured I'd give it a try. The good news is that performance and connection strength are improved but the downside is that now whenever my laptop (ThinkPad T40) is unplugged and I close the lid it won't go into standby until I pull out the card.

Also, when I change any of the advanced settings in device manager for the card the system freezes and I have to pull it out and put it back in for it to respond. Seems like it might be a power issue but not sure what setting to change. Here is what I have for the cards advanced settings:

    Driver Version: 4.100.27.0

    Afterburner – Disabled
    Antenna Diversity – Auto
AP Compatibility Mode – Higher Performance
    Bluetooth Collaboration – Disable
BSS CLCP Header – Auto (Short/Long)
Disable Upon Wired Connect – Enabled
    Fragmentation Threshold – 2346
    IBSS 54g Mode – 54g Auto
IBSS 54g Protection Mode – Auto
    IBSS Allowed – Enabled
    IBSS Link Indication – Default
Locally Administered MAC Address – Not Present
    Location – United States
    Manage Wireless Settings – Enabled
    Minimum Power Consumption – Enabled
    Mixed Cell Support – Disabled
    Power Output – 100%
    Power Save Mode – Fast
    Radio Enable/Disable – Enable
    Rate – Use best rate
    Roam Tendency – Moderate
    Roaming Decision – Default
    RTS Threshold – 2347
    SSID Autopromote – Disabled
    VLAN Priority Support - Auto
    WMM – Auto
WZC IBSS Channel Number – 11
    WZC Managed Ethernet – Disabled
    Xpress Technology – Disabled

I have tried changing a few of these settings like œMinimum Power Consumption†and “Power Save Mode†but to no avail. Any ideas?

    Thanks for any help.
