I have a Linksys WRK54G router contacted to a Motorola SB5120 Surfbroad cable modem, 2 wired pc's both running win2000pro and 1 wireless laptop with winXPpro. My problem is after a few hours of inactivity I am unable to contact to the internet or check email with outlook express. I restart the computers and power-down and restart the router and modem and everything works fine. Is this a common problem? Is there a way to stop it from happening?

hai it's an issue related with the port function on the linksys router so try to download a new firmware version from linksys website and try www.linksys.com/download

    hey anonymous,

My first wireless router was the wrk54g. It came from the kit with the wmp54g. The router with one antenna, sucked ass. Not because of the antenna but because it was always having to be reset. We ran a business off of it and it was unsatisfactory. I called linksys and had them to send me a replacement wrk54g. I had to pay shipping, but its worth it. When I got the refurbished WRK54G I tried it for a few days but this one was the same if not worse. So once again I called them. They said they rarely do MODEL exchanges but they did for me. They sent me a WRT54G. Its the best one out there. No problems and the networking and response times were GREATLY improved. After more than a year, my WRT54G is starting to drop signal if we run a lot of traffic through it but otherwise, its perfect. Two nights ago I bought a WRT54gs V4. Very nice speedbooster router. With the high gain antenna i picked up 15 dB over the WRT54G with the High Gains. try and get rid of the wrk. Its a piece of shit. It shouldnt be called a linksys.

    Hope this helps.
