    This is my first post.
I have a WRT54G v6 and i'm experiencing some troubles with the internet connection.
When i power on the router, it works perfectly for about 5-10 minutes and then the internet signal goes away. I reboot the router and same thing happens again, i'm in this cycle for a week or two now.
I've upgraded the firmware for the latest available on linsys.com website.
I was thinking in getting a linux based open source (eg: DD-WRT) to see if it solves my problem. I don't care lossing warranty if it's gonna keep my internet connection running.
What is the best suggestion you guys can give me? Is there a way to solve this? Is this a common problem? Or i got a falty router?
    Thanks in advance ...

PS: sorry if i make any mistakes in my post, i just discovered this forum today.

    Yes need more info,

Do you loose connection to the router or the router to the internet?

Does your modem have a webgui you can try to access when you loose connection?

What happens if you connect without the router in place?

What happens if you put a static ip on the wan port of the router and put a static ip on your machine and ping it continously, does it still drop?

Thats just a few that come to mind but there is never really to much info when it comes to connection issues.

    WRT54G version 6

It verifies if its modem is with the qualified DHCP, in case that it is pass for DHCP the same incapacitated and the way bridge. This problem also can be happening of access algunsn sites or generality? in case that he is of some sites you can configure in the interface of the roteador MTU as manual 1492. One remembers that to have access the necessary roteador to type in browser the IP of the roteador so that you he changes the configurations.

    :dog:Glá

    My internet is DSL.
The connection works perfectly without the router, as it always work. I think the problem is after the signal passes throuth the router (problem with the router).

Perfect it verifies if the MODEM is with the qualified DHCP DISABLE and if WAY BRIDGE is passed, for what you say the connection you fall why two equipment of its net is supplying IPs automatically in this net with this configuration only one will have to deliver IP that is its to router WRT54G this happens very in the Brazil.
    In which country you are?
