I am unable to add any ports or IP's under QoS Classification
everything is greyed out - this router belonged to a buddy

and I bought it off of him so it still has some of his old settings
however when I tried to add a few ports and IP's myself to try

messing around with QoS to give my XBOX 360 and PS3 Wii etc...

the highest amount bandwidth I was unable to add a single IP or port
the box on the side that says add isn't even visable any ideas why?

EDIT: I noticed if I deleted one of the ports and IP's I'm able to just add one

is there a limit to how many rules you can add under QoS Classification?

this would suck as what'a the point with as many programs as I have
and PC's I don't see how you could benifit from QoS if you can't even limit much

on the entire network to begin with...

is this normal or do I need to re-flash the router?

Well, unfortunately you are giving almost no useful information, so it's a bit hard to offer any help. Anyway, that situation is most certainly not normal.

As you have no idea what happened to it before you owned it, I would suggest going to administrations/configuration/restore default config and erase NVRAM (thorough) to get rid of all of the old config, and then enter all your details from scratch. This is the time-honored method of clearing up strange occurrences in Tomato. You shouldn't need to re-flash.

There is a limit of 10 port entries per rule, but you can add extra rules of course. The most I've ever tried was around 17 rules, and I have a very comprehensive QOS, so you should be OK !

Alright I will do that thanks for your help.

as to what I'm doing just limiting every bit of bandwidth in the house across all computers laptops etc....

I entend too give all my bandwidth to my XBOX 360 Wii and PS3
    I don't want a single thing in the house above 512d 256u

this way pritty much all of my connection 15d 15u will be reserved for my gaming
    and "cough" torrents "cough" :)

I just didn't understand why there was apparently a limit for how many rules you could have
I wonder what the reason for that is... lack of memory perhaps inside the WRT54GL router?

Yes. Previous versions weren't checked and would allow more than 10 - this would often cause quite strange problems, so I guess that's why the limit was introduced. Anyone just upgrading may need to move some ports into another rule.
