Linksys WRT54GL & VOIP

    hello

    Can i change the firm to my linksys WRT54GL to use for VOIP(is to conect a normal telefone to the router) Can I?
    If I can wath is the correct firmware

    you cannot put a normal phone onto your router. you need a VOIP Phone and a VOIP/SIP Provider like Vonage, Sipgate, les.net etc, the providers usually provide a Phone adapter to plug into you router and you can then use your own phone, or a VOIP Phone that plugs directly into your router. you should not need any new firmware however dd-wrt does provide VOIP firmware, but you still need to sign upto a SIP provider afaik.

    Hi Toxic,
    I would appreciate ur help on how to properly set up D-Link dsl-2640u, wireless g, ADSL2+Router to work properly with Linksys, PAP2T, internet phone adapter. I tried but when I call others, they said the phone is ringing but neither me nor them can hear each other. what could be the problem?. I am using win xp sp3, IBM laptop, core dou, 2g ram. Thank you
