I got Zyxel 660HW-61 wireless adsl modem from my ISP. I figured I could install this new modem right away and get it function with my Linksys WRT54GS. It turned out it wasn't that easy.

The Zyxel is located in hall where we have telephone outlet. The Linksys is located in my room, where I have two computers connected to it with cables. So I don't need anything fancy from the Zyxel, as there isn't any computers connected to it with cables, I just need it to share the Internet connection to the Linksys.

After reading some articles, I assumed I needed the Alchemy or Freeman firmware to get Client-routing mode available. After that I got the system working, so that I could connect to the Internet quite nicely.

The thing is I need the connection to work like a bridge between Zyxel and Linksys, because I use my home computer over VNC from work. I configured the Zyxel to work as a bridge, and I was quite happy to learn that Linksys got the IP from my service provider. For some reason the computers couldn't connect to the Internet at all. Could there be some settings in Linksys (in gateway perhaps) that might be wrong?

Or is it even possible to get this system working like want to?

    Got it working!

I put routing on Zyxel and forwarded all ports to Linksys -> it works!
